COLFER, BETTY J. (née Lippard) of Clarkston, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2023 at 92 years of age. She was born on February 12, 1930 in Pontiac, MI to the late Eula McCrary Lippard and Clinton C. Lippard. Loving wife of Robert Colfer who preceded her in death in 2009; dear mother of Karen Colfer Bailey; grandmother of Kelsey Bailey and Robert Bailey; aunt of Anita (the late Danny) Robinson; great aunt of Leah (Keith) Barbato; sister in law of Joanne Townsen; and survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by 11 siblings, twin sister Ruby, Margaret, Odell, Ioan, Clifford, R.C., Lila, J.W., Joan, Clinton, Jr., and Faye. An identical twin, Betty, and her twin Ruby, graduated from Pontiac High School in 1948 and both went on to graduate from the American Institute of Banking. Betty would retire as a mortgage processer from First Federal Savings and Trust. She was an active volunteer with Lighthouse in Clarkston, checking in on over two dozen neighbors a week by phone. Betty was Lighthouse's first recipient of the Tom Rademacher Volunteer Award. In her spare time she enjoyed a good game of Bingo. Her giving and caring heart will be dearly missed forever. Private service will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Michigan Humane Society or Oakland County Animal Shelter.
