SMADES, BARRY LEE, of Pontiac, passed away June 24, 2020 at 66 years of age. Barry was born on December 8, 1953 in Pontiac, Michigan, son of the late Clifford and Wanda Smades (nee Webber); loving husband of Sandy for 15 ½ wonderful years; dear brother of the late Terrie Smades; brother in law of Carol McGarvah, Scott McGarvah, Linda (Aaron) Sturgill and Kristy McGarvah; proud uncle of Molly, Spencer, Ryan and Dakota; cousin of Larry (Elaine) Gavette and Vicki Gavette. Barry worked for the city of Pontiac for 25 years. He was also a sports writer for the Oakland Press from 1977 to 1984 and a sports statistician since March of 1970. A private family service will be held at COATS FUNERAL HOME, WATERFORD. Interment Perry Mount Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Marimont Community Church Missions.
