FARNUM, BARBARA A. of Waterford, passed away on March 27, 2020 at 84 years of age. Barbara was born in Caro, Michigan on January 21, 1936 to the late Irene (Kish) and John Baranic. She grew up on the family farm and by adolescence was driving tractors and the grain truck. She moved to Waterford, MI after she wed Russell Farnum. After the death of her husband in 1963, she raised her two sons as a young widowed mother. Her sons spent many memorable summers on the family farm that held many cherished memories for her as a young girl. Barbara lived in the same house in Waterford for 55 years. Professionally, Barbara graduated from nursing school from Saginaw General Hospital. As a private duty nurse, she cared for the same patients for many years. She retired at age of 73 from a career she loved. She also proudly had the honor of presenting her granddaughter, Mallory, a newly graduated nurse, with her nurse's pin at her Pinning Ceremony in 2010. Her warm smile and twinkling eyes will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Dear wife of the late Russell; cherished mother of Russ (Carrie) Farnum and the late Thomas (Shelly) Farnum; grandmother of Russell (Lauren), Mallory (Donnie), and Mitchell (Elizabeth); great grandmother of Maya, Mitchell, Max, Harrison, and Katherine; sister of John Baranic and Elizabeth Kingsley. Barbara will also be missed by her cherished Beta Sigma Phi Sorority sisters.
