DEVINE, BARBARA ANN of Lapeer, formally of Waterford, passed away July 22, 2020. Born on October 17, 1943 in Pontiac, Michigan, daughter of the late Albert and Barbara Papi (nee Garneau); beloved wife of James Devine for 57 years; loving mother of John Devine (Tom Couvreur), Connie (Keith) Viazanko, Dina (Charlie) Senick and Rob Devine (Eddie Calderon); proud grandmother of Courtney, Taylor, and Elizabeth; dearest sister of Tony Papi, and "sister" Jeri Bottorff, and preceded in death by siblings Connie Palladino and Joe Papi. She was "mom" to many, and a cherished aunt to all of her special nieces and nephews, and had many amazing cousins. One of her rewards in life was to be a loving nanny to many families. Barbara met Jim for the first time at Bob E's Super Chief in Pontiac. The absolute most important thing in Barb's heart was her family. Some of the fondest memories were the early days of camping with her family at Metamora "Katmandu" State Park. Cooking and baking for her family and friend's events were one of Barb's favorite ways to give joy to others. She got such satisfaction from volunteering to prepare meals for funeral receptions at Our Lady of Lakes in Waterford and Immaculate Conception in Lapeer. Her granddaughter's dance skills can all be attributed to her dedicated efforts, she would take them to practices at the drop of a hat and then showing up to root for them at every one of their recitals, and no one was prouder. She was the ultimate Barbra Streisand fan. She also enjoyed reading books every night, doing puzzles, and going to movies. Barbara will be dearly missed by her family and friends, as well as her two beloved dogs Amico and Sadie.
