GAUTHIER, ANGELA C. (nee Smith) of Waterford, formally of Saginaw passed away unexpectedly December 24, 2021 at 38 years of age. Loving wife of Joel Gauthier for 10 years; dear mother of Harper; cherished daughter of Linda and the late Larry Smith; also survived by grandma Barb. Angela was a 2001 graduate of Mott High School, where she was active in marching band and sports. She received her bachelor degree from Madonna University in gerontology, and a master's degree in social work from Wayne State University. Angela had recently transferred from the VA hospital in Saginaw to the VA hospital in Ann Arbor. She was an active outdoor person who enjoyed biking; hiking; kayaking; traveling; exploring; softball, but never camping in a tent that was a work in progress. Always able to speak her mind you never were unclear about what she thought, liked or disliked. She loved and adored her family, and was deeply loved by family and friends and will be forever missed. Funeral service will be Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 4 PM at COATS FUNERAL HOME–WATERFORD. Family will receive friends Thursday 2 PM until time of service. Please, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the following charities: Disabled American Veterans, Helmets to Hardhats, Blue Star Service Dogs, and Fisher House Foundation. Family requested masks are required.
