RIVERA, ANGELA, of Waterford, passed away April 30, 2020 at 99 years of age. Born April 8, 1921 in Whitsett, Texas daughter of the late Margarito and Reynalda Rodriquez. Beloved wife of Benigno "Benny" Rivera for 65 wonderful years; cherished mother of Eva (Ronald) Sajewski, Albert (Ginger) Rivera, Juan Diego Rivera, and Joseph (Ramona) Rivera. She was preceded in death by her husband Benigno and by her oldest beloved son Joseph Rivera; her sisters Epifania Gomez and Lasara Hernandez; and her brothers Pedro Romero, Bernabe Rodriquez and Miguel Rodriguez. Angela is survived by her children Eva, Albert and Juan and two sisters Jesusa Villa and Melecia Delgado. Angela was the proud grandmother of many grandchildren and great grandchildren.Grandma Rivera was a kind, compassionate and a loving person to all who knew her. She was a women of great faith and attended Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church every Sunday. She loved doing arts and crafts especially sewing, so much so that she sewed quilts for all of her family. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel. She especially liked to go up north and on day trips with her family. Angela was not intimidated by hard work so she trained and ran a marathon. She also enjoyed gambling at the casinos, shopping and gardening. Most of all Angela loved and adored her family, especially her grandchildren.Due to current circumstances there can only be 10 people in the funeral home at a time. The family request that only close family, sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews, godchildren and close personal friends of Angela attend the viewing. Please contact Monique for a time to join the family at the viewing.The viewing will be held at Coats funeral home in Waterford on May 6th 2020 from 10:30 am-12:30pm. A Rosary will be said at 10:00am by the family at the funeral home. Please join the family in prayer at that time from your home.The family cannot immediately have a Funeral Mass at the church for the safety of the community. The family intends to hold a Mass and memorial at a later date to celebrate Angela's life at a time when safety permits.The family will be praying the Novena for Angela starting on May 7th 2020 at 7:00 pm; please join the family in prayer at that time from your home.
