age 90, / ppassed away July 1, 2018 with her sons and daughter at her side. Alice was born in New Waterford of Cape Breton in Nova Scotia, Canada on Jan. 11,sup/sup1923. She came to the United States of America when she was eight years old to live with her aunt and uncle. She married her late husband Richard Lawrence Shafto on Jan. 14, 1950. Alice was preceded in death by her four brothers. She was a loving homemaker and raised five children, Thomas (deceased), Michael (Cindy), Richard (Cecilia), Nancy (Richard) and Thomas (Leslie); seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Hosting Halloween trick-or-treating, playing cards, traveling, bowling, (often scoring 200+) and going to the casino were some of her favorite activities. Alice always had the best luck when it came to games, drawings and lottery. For her most recent birthday party, Alice stood on the table and danced for the picture on her invitation. She celebrated 90 years with dozens of family and friends. She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and conversations that were always filled with laughter. Alice worked for many years at Bobbettrsquo;s Lingerie in Pontiac. She and her husband Richard were longtime members of the Pontiac/Waterford Elks Lodge #810.
