ADKINS, A. JEAN of Pontiac, went to be with the Lord on July 31, 2023 at 96 years of age. Loving wife of the late Roy; dear mother of James (Geneva) Adkins, the late Barbara Jones, and the late Larry Adkins; grandmother of 6; great grandmother of 9, preceded in death by 1; and great great grandmother of 5 with 1 on the way; step grandmother to many; sister of Louise Young and Breatrice Ellis; preceded in death by siblings Dorothy Myers, Lula Fox, Virginia Turpin, Betty Carte, Robert England, Charles England, and Junior England. Special thanks to granddaughter Christina Adkins who lovingly cared for Jean for two years in her own home. Jean was born in Selbyville, West Virginia and moved to Michigan in 1952 with her husband Roy where they would live out their lives and raise their family. She was an active member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Pontiac since 1961. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and most importantly time with her ever growing family of grandchildren. She was kind to all, warm, and welcoming. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Funeral service will be held Friday, August 4, 2023 at 11 AM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD. Burial follows at Ottawa Park Cemetery, Clarkston. Family will receive friends Thursday 4-8 PM.
