HEMPSTEAD, Judge KENNETH H., Passed peacefully at his home on January 7, 2010 at 80 years of age. Best friend and husband of Beverly for 58 years. Dear father of Carol (Sadatoshi Dairiki) Hempstead of Ann Arbor and Alicia (William) Whittaker of Lapeer. Also survived by his grandchildren, Phillip Whittaker, Bradley Whittaker, Ken Hempstead Dairiki and Elise Whittaker. Mr. Hempstead was currently serving as a Waterford Township Trustee and was the Founder and President of Community Programs Inc., in Waterford. Prior to retiring, he served for 33 years as a Waterford District Court Judge.

Funeral Service: Monday, January 11, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at Woodside Bible Church, (9000 Highland Rd., White Lake). A private burial will take place at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.

Visitation: at COATS FUNERAL HOME, Waterford, Saturday 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Sunday 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Community Programs Inc. or the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
