At Coats Funeral Home, we offer a variety of funeral programs including cremation services and packages, and we also educate clients about this growing yet often-misunderstood area. Cremation pre-planning is vital, as you cannot authorize your own cremation. Only a person’s next of kin may authorize a cremation. Fortunately, before the time of death authorizations may be obtained.

 

For a family member who has legally chosen cremation services, the cremation service need not be any different than a funeral service. This is because cremation constitutes what happens to the body after the service. So, you may choose to include the body for viewing in any of our funeral programs. For example, you can choose to include the body for viewing at a funeral service, or not present the body for viewing in a memorial service. With cremation, the body can be present for viewing at visitation and funeral service, use pallbearers and close with a luncheon. or you may choose cremation first, followed by a memorial service and luncheon.

 

In addition to our cremation services, we offer special, environmentally-friendly cremation caskets made of wood and nominal hardware. And, we have an extensive variety of containers and other products to memorialize your loved one.
