Terrence Glen Rodgers

Terry was born in Detroit, MI on March 21, 1942, and passed away at the age of 81 on December 23, 2023, at home in Waterford, MI. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Bonnie (Wilder) Rodgers, son Michael Rodgers, daughter-in-law Aimee Lippencott-Rodgers and two grandchildren Kenzie & Declan. Terry worked hard to support his family during his entire life. Whether it was as a child in Garden City pulling a wagon to deliver newspapers, as a stocker at the local grocery store, an electrical technician in Florida building components which traveled into space with the NASA Apollo Missions, or as a public-school educator for over 30 years. Terry was always committed to working his hardest to support those that he loved. Terry spent the majority of his working career as a business educator at Brandon High School in Ortonville, MI teaching there for 26 years. He not only was the Vocational Director, taught Mathematics, Accounting and Computer Science but also established and ran the school store (the Hawks Nest). Terry had many passions that drove his personality of kindness and generosity toward people. One of the largest involved supporting and working with Boy Scout Troop 1037, where his son Michael was a member. Terry enjoyed contributing his time and effort toward the meetings, campouts and projects to support his son and the troop. Even after Michael had earned his Eagle badge and left the troop, Terry and his wife Bonnie continued to help run the Eagle Scout program for many years in order to encourage more young men to find personal growth and development. It was in this endeavor that Terry created many lifelong friendships and improved many people’s lives. A public church service and funeral mass will be held at 10:00am on May 17, 2024, at St. Hugo of the Hills Catholic Church in Bloomfield Hills, MI with a reception to follow.
