Stephan Richard Liles

Liles, Stephan Richard, age 63 of Waterford, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. He was born on October 3, 1960 in Pontiac, Michigan to parents the late Claude Earl and Lorraine Liles (Hurteau); cherished husband of 30 years to Brooke Loreen Liles (nee Barnfather); proud father of Zachary, Jessica, and Aric Liles; dearest brother of Carol Carr, Donna (Gary) Stieber, Ronald (Patricia) Liles, David (Rita) Liles, Mary (Gilbert) Schreiner, Gary (Heidi) Liles, the late Jeffery Liles, and the late Claudia (the late Henry) Laughlin. Stephan went to Waterford Mott High School and attended Oakland Community College. He started painting with his father when he was 12 years old and made it a career. He worked for Oakland County for over 20 years and did residential painting for several years until he retired. He met the love of his life Brooke in 1990 and the two of them were married January 28, 1994. Together they raised their three wonderful children in Waterford. Stephan’s passion was music, and he was a drummer for multiple bands throughout the years. His love of music was carried on with his children who were in the marching band throughout high school and college. Stephan and his wife Brooke would enjoy going for walks and bike rides to the nature center and going to the Dream Cruise in their classic cars. Stephan loved his family more than anything and will be deeply missed. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 4-9pm with a scripture service at 7:30pm. A private committal service will take place at Crescent Hills Cemetery in Waterford, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Waterford Schools Fine Arts.
